What is wrong with my yamaha blaster 2006 headlight?

I've replaced the light bulb twice now. The first time i was told the problem was I wasn't wearing gloves. so the bulb blew. The second time. I wore gloves, took my time, put the bulb in correct. The bulb worked when the quad ran, I didn't ride it. Then I took the quad to go ride later at night. Turned the light on, the 2 seconds later the light just died, I looked, and the Light bulb had shattered inside the headlight mount, Any idea? Is there something im doing wrong? Or just really bad luck with the bulbs im getting?
