Is this mileage too much? (and what are annual tune ups?)?

as for the miles 142,000 isn't to bad for a 8 almost 9 year old car, the average for a year is 15k so 15k multiplied by 9 for the age is 135k so its only about 5k over which isn't bad, and also it always doesn't depend on the mileage it depends on how well the vehicle has been taken care of, such as regular maintenance, yeah u might come across some problems with higher miles but who doesn't have problems with their car every now and then, as long as u take care of it, it will take care of u, my car has 185,000 miles it is a 1996 but it is going strong, yeah i have stuff here and there i need to fix but nothing major yet, so just make sure it has and will be well taken care of, as far as maintenance goes, keep the oil changed at the correct time 3,000 miles or 3 months whichever comes first, also change the fuel filter along with the air filter, change the spark plugs and plug wires when need be, keep all fluids at the proper level. hope this helps.
