How do I find out if a judge was out of line?

A judge made a remark in the courtroom that based on my name ending in a vowel that I must be catholic and the fact that I must not be a good catholic or I wouldn't have acted the way I did. He also stated that I must not have seen my religious leader in the recent past. Is he allowed to say ANYTHING about ones religion? I thought church and state had to be separate.I felt that remark was out of line. How does he know anything about my religious practices or my faith to make any judgment at all? He is supposed to judge my legal behavior my religious beliefs and practices. He also allowed testimony that was extremely personal, and degrading and had nothing to do with the case to be allowed to continue. I felt like a victim all over again. I would like to know if there is some form of ethical misconduct here and if so what resources I have to complain. I live in NJ.
