Simple math journal ques... how much math is too much? and how much is needed for the average person?

i'm a math geek, but i hate it ??? i don't know how that happened, but i think that a person needs math just to survive. like taxes, bills,simple things like that. but if you're a math teacher, who knows how far they'll go.
